Montgomery Ledger 6/15/1880:  Obituary record:

John Sheeler, of Spring City, died Wednesday at his home on New Street, 
after a lingering illness of consumption. Deceased is in his forty-third 
year, was a senior member of the firm Sheeler, Buckwalter and Co. of the 
Royersford Stove Works and was a very amiable citizen.
His funeral will take place on Friday. Interment to take place at Brownback's 
burial ground, East Coventry, Chester County.



Montgomery Ledger 6/15/1880 - Funeral:

The funeral of John Sheeler, who died on Tuesday, took place place from his 
residence on New Street yesterday, Friday,  at 10 o'clock.  After singing and 
prayer by Rev. J. Graeff, the body, which reposed in a splendid rosewood casket, 
was borne to the M E Church, followed by the mourning family and the workers of 
the Royersford Stove Works, and the friends of the deceased.  The large church 
was unable to accomodate the numerous throng.  The services were conducted by 
Rev. J B Graeff, pastor of the church,  assisted by Rev. J Neff of the Lutheran 
church and Mssrs. Gracey, Flint, and Swindells, as local preachers.  After the 
service, the procession moved to Brownback's Church, where the last remains of 
John Sheeler were laid in their narrow bed.  In the death of Mr. Sheeler, the 
family has lost a faithful husband and father, his aged father and mother a 
dutiful son, and the church of which he was a member for many years, a faithful 
Christian; and  last, the firm in business of which he was the senior member, 
has lost a partner that will be hard to replace.
 
NOTE: His cemetery stone at Brownback Reformed shows dates of  3/24/1838-6/8/1880, 
(a Tuesday).  His wife was Mary Emma SHULER also buried there with dates 
7/29/1835-9/2/1909, dau of John SHULER and Eliza RALSTON.
