Sheridan* Florence McNamee Sheridan, a former resident of West Chester, died suddenly Sunday morning at Newark, O., where she had made her home in recent years. Her death occurred in Newark Hospital. She was in her 56th year. The deceased was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Cannon McNamee, who lived at 25 W. Barnard St., West Chester for many years. Her father a veteran employe of West Chester Street Railway Company is well remembered as “Skipper of the High St. Dinky,” a trolley car which, for many years, ran on West Chester’s main north and south street from Virginia Ave., to the teachers college. ** Mrs. Sheridan is survived by her husband and one daughter, Miss Dorothy Sheridan, of Newark. Two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Baker and Mrs. Anna Wides (sic), and a brother, David McNamee, all of Philadelphia, also survive. The body is being brought to West Chester for services and interment at St. Agnes Cemetery. * Obituary addresses husband as Michael in stead Martin, as evidence in his father in law’s obituary. ** Teachers College is present day West Chester University. Ibid: SHERIDAN- In Newark, Ohio, on June 14, 1959, Florence MacNamee (sic), wife of Michael H. Sheridan, in the 56th year of her age. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral from the Hicks Funeral Home, 229 S. High St., West Chester, on Wednesday, June 17th, at 9:00 am. Solemn Requiem Mass at St. Agnes Church at 10:00 am. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening.
