DR. James B. Shively
After months of lingering illnes, Dr. James B. Shively passed away eary this 
morning at his home at the corner of Church and Chestnut streets. Dr. Shively 
came to West Chester in the spring of 1911, from Shippensburg where for years 
he had been a successful physician, making a specialty of diseases of the eye. 
Although omparatively a newcomer here he mande may friends, being cordial and 
kindly diposiotn, slway ready to render a service whenever possible and doing 
many kindly acts unknown to any but the persons who benefited by them> Dr. 
Shively was about two years ago elected a deacon in the first Presbyterian 
Church and as lonf as health permitted was earnest in the discharge of the 
duties attached to that office.
    He is survived by a widow. formerly, Mrs. Kline, of Abington, near 
Philadelphis, to he was married a year ago today.
     He also leaves a daughter Mrs. Geo. C.Gayman of Doylestown.

    Relatives and friends of the family are invited to atted the funeral 
without further notice from his late residence, 126 North Church street, on 
Wednesday,December 4th at the house at 10:30 O'clock a.m. Interment in 
Shippensburg

Services were held over the body of Dr. James B. Shively at his late home on 
North Church Street and the interment was made at Shippensburg. Rev. Samuel C. 
Hodge pastor of the First Presbyertian Church read fitting paggages of 
scripture and he and Rev. Washington R. Laird Ph.D. pastor emeritus spoke. 
Mrs. Shively, Mrs. George G. Gayman, (Doylestown) and John L. Clayton 
accompanied the body to Shippensburg
