He was admitted to the hospital on Thursday afternoon. Deputy Coroner H. E. Williams, Jr., this city, was notified of the death, and learned from the family that Slawko had been ill for the past month. On Thursday a physician advised that he be moved to the hospital. Slawko was employed at the open hearth, Lukens Steel company, prior to his illness. He was a native of Austria and came to America in 1913. He was well known here and was a member of the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Pauline Hochak Slawko, three sons and two daughters: John, who is in the U.S. Army and is stationed at New Cumberland; Leon, LeRoy and Sophia, at home, and Mrs. James Carrado, Jr., of Coatesville. He also has a brother, Demetric Slawko, of Chicago. The funeral will take place from his late home on Monday at 9 o’clock with High Mass at the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in the Greek Orthodox cemetery. Friends have been invited to call at his late home on Monday evening.
