Speakman was buried Thursday afternoon. The funeral was a very large one many of the prominent politicians ofthe County and State attending it. The services were conducted by Re. Arthur W. Wilde, rector of the Church of the Trinity, assisted by Rev. Thomas Garland , a former rector. Enoch S. Hannum, of West Chester, a speaker of the Society of Friends' also spoke. ThE floral tributes were handsome, appropiate and numerous Being form Goddard Lodge, No.883, square and compass; Coatesville Chapter No. 267, keystroke; Centennial Commandery, No. 55, maltese cross; clerks of the hotel a cross and crown; Young Men`s Republican Club, of Coatesville, a cross and cresant; J.Frank Hause, West Chester a pillow; Humphrey Martin, Philadelphia,cross and numerous cut flowers. It took three wagons to carry the flowers to the cemetery. The active pallbearers were Dr. Thomas Richmond, August Brauniger, Charles G. Zook, Max Steinwache, Squire Geo. G. Myer and Morris Sellers. honorary bearers were General Reeder,T.L. Eyre, Senator Snyder, J. Frank Hause, Harry Smith, John E. Stott, E.H. Doan,Fr.D.p. Rettew, E.H. Graves and A.H. Swing.
