An inexcusable mistake had been made at Chicago, where two bodies had been shipped, that of Speakman`s having been sent to Canada and the one of latter having been sent to Coatesville. When the mistake was discovered it was to late to remedy it on the day set fot the funeral, and the mourners as may be expected were vexed at the difficulty. the funeral of the late Ellis Speakman, formerly of Coatesville, took place at Ercidoun Cemtery on Tuesday, and at the appointed hour, not withstanding the fact that the remains did not arrive from the west for a day or so later than expected. The body was sent express train, while Speakman`s Brother who left at the same time, came on the limited express arriving in Catesville, quite a while before the corpse. There was anxiety on the part of the family on account of the delay, but their fears where allayed by their arrival at 3 o'clock on the morning of the funeral. On the same train with the desendants brother, was a body which was put off the train in Mount Joy, Lancaster county, hence a rumor arose to the effect that there had been a mistake made, and the funeral would have to be postponed. This proved to be incorrect. The funeral was largely attend. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 2.5 Kb
