Speakman in the 35t year of her age. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral withou further notice from the residence of her sister, Mrs. Frank O. Loomis,223 West Chestnutstreet, on Wednesday the 24th inst., meet at the house at 11o'clock a.m. Interment priate at Greenmount cemetery. FLORENCE B. SPEAKMAN 7/22/1918 At home in the St. James apartments on Sunday morning at 10:30, Miss Florence B. Speakman died rather unexpectedly, aged 35 years. She had been in ill health for some months, but was able to be around, sitting upon the porch at home, and being hopeful of recovery. Miss Speakman was a graduate of the West Chester High School and the West Chester State Normal School and taught successfully in Horsham and near Bryn Mawr, in Montgomery county; at Manoa Delware County and in the schools of Coatesville, from which position she was compelled to resign because of her health.As a member of the First Baptist Church she was active and faithful, teaching Sunday School and assisting in many ways inthe work of the church. She is survived by three sisters; Mrs. Frank O Loomis, West Chestnut street; Miss Emma B. whom she made her home; and Miss Deborah P., who holds a position in York. 7/24/1918 this morning the funeral of Miss Florence B. Speakman took place from the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank O. Loomis, West Chestnut street. Services where in charge of Rev. Charles A. Walker, of the Olivet Baptist Church, who is acting pastor of the First Baptist Church during this month. Miss Veronica Sweigart, contralto soloist of the First Baptist Church, sang"one Sweetly Solemn Thought". Floral offerings were presented by societies connected with the First Baptist Church and by relatives and friends. The pall-bearers were her brother-in-law, Frank O. Loomis and five members of the church, Davis R. Eachus,Edgar J. Eachus, Herman E. Roller, Paul E. Speer, adn Francis J. Hipple.
