SPEAKMAN 1/1/1926 Fred W. Speakman, a former hotel keeper in this city, but hwo for some time past has been a resident of Elizabethtown, died at the latter place on Tueday evening, after a protracted illness. He was 57 age, andis survived by his widow and two grown sons--Franklin B. of Akron, O,. and Paul B., of Madison, N.J. His funeral will take place at 2 p.m. today from the residence of his late father-in-law, F.B. Ddavis, of 334 Railroad Street, this ciyt. Interment will made at Fairview Cemetery. Fred W. Speakman 12/29/1926 Word reached H. C. Ford here last evening of the death at the Masonic Home,Elizabethtown,Pa., of the death during the day of Fred W. Speakman, of this city, who had been at the home for the past eighteen months. The body will be shipped to this city for interment. He is survived by his wife and two sons by a former wife, Franklin at a point in Ohio, amd Paul, of Patterson, N.J. Two nieces Mrs Anna Martha Alexander in North Carolina, and Mrs. James Franklin Sides of Lancaster, are the nearest relatives. Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed. Mr. Speakman was a son of the late Franklin B. Speakman, owner of the Speakman hotel of this place, which still bears his name. Following the death of the oldest son, Charles H. Speakman , the hotel and other valuable property became the possession of Fred Speakman. The young man coming from Swartmore College took a position in the plate mills fo the Luken Steel Company, where he was employed for a long time, unti suceeding to the proprietorship of the hotel. Following his relinguishing this property to another, hee ntered the service of thr Government in the accounting department of Frankford Arsenal, in Philadelphia. He suffered a stroke and was forced to leave this place. He came to the city to stay at the residence of his Father-in-law Frank Davis, on Railroad Street; until he entered the home at Elizabethtown. Speakman In Elizabethtown, Pa., on December 28th, 1926, Fredrick W. Speakman, in the 55th year of his age. Relatives and friends of the family also Goddard Lodge No. 383,D.& A.M. are invited to attend the funeral without further noticefrom the residence of his father-in-law, Frank B. Davis, No.334 Railroad Street, Coatesville, Pa.,on saturday January 1st, 1927.
