Speakman, son of Cheyney C. and Sallie J. Speakman, in the 13 year of his age. Friends and relatives of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from his late residence in Malvern, on Wednesday, March 4t, 1891. Interment at Malvern. Services in the Malvern Baptist Church at 2o'clock. Carriages will meet trains arriving at Malvern at 10:50. DEATH ON THE RAIL HERBERT SPEAKMAN INSTANTLY KILLED AT MALVERN ON SATURDAY Herbert, son of Cheyney speakman, formerly of this borough but now of Malvern, met an awful death at the latter place on Saturday afternoon. The lad, who was about fourteen years of age, was clinging to the step of a slowly moving freight car attached to a train o the P.R.R. near the freight depot on saturday afternoon, when the New York and Chicago limited express came around the curve just west of the point at a high rate of speed. The lad was caught at a point just west of the planing mill. He was struck with terrible force and almost in an instant the life was crushed out of his body. Young Speakman was just recovering from the effects of a fall from the railroad bridge near the point where he met his death. The Coronor`s jury consisted of H.P. Gallagher,Wm.L.Spackman (Speakman?),J.Jones Still, Herbert Brown,Benj.F. Crathers, and Nathan Supplee. The jury adjourned to meet again today when the train hands on both the limited express and the freight upon which he was clinging when struck will be present to testify. 3/3/1891 EXONERATED THE COMPANY The jury of inquest on the body of Herbert son of Chetyney Speakman who was killed at Malvern on Saturday, concluded it`s work yesterday adn exonerated the railroad company from all blame, it being shown that the lad was a trespasser on the property of the company and had been stealing a ride on a train when he met his death.
