The Funeral of John T. Speakman took place yesterday morning at 10 o'clock in 
the Oxford Presbyterian Church with services conducted by Rev. P. B. Logan of 
the United Presbyertian. The interment was made in Oxford Cemetery. Mr. 
Speakman was 71 years old, a son of the late Joshua Speakman and was born and 
raised in Hopewell, the Speakman Family being long one of the oldest families 
of that section. Forty years ago the deceased went to Philadelphia, where he 
made his home and engaged in carpentering. He died there last Friday. after an 
illness of just four days from apoplexy, although he had been wnwell since 
last October. His body was brought to Oxford on the morning train Tuesday, 
accompanied by his sorrowing family and numerous friends and relatives.
