Coatesville Record, October 20, 1952


Athanasios Topoulos 
Athanasios (Tom) Topoulos, aged 57, passed away yesterday morning in 
Coatesville hospital after being in poor health for some time.  Death, 
according to Coroner Creston Shoemaker, was the result of a cerebral vascular 
accident. 
Topoulos, whose wife, Vasilek, resides in Greece, came to the United States 
from Greece in 1914 and first resided in Philadelphia coming to this city 22 
years ago.  He was a waiter by trade. 
During the First World War, he served with the AEF in France and in Coatesville 
he resided at the YMCA. 
In addition to his wife he is survived by these children.  Pete, Coatesville; 
Agathi and Bagelio, both in Greece; and two brothers, James and Angelo, also in 
Greece. 
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, October 22, from the Archie 
S. Maclean Funeral Home, Coatesville, at 2 p.m. with interment in Fairview 
Cemetery.  Friends have been invited to call at the funeral home Tuesday 
evening.
