He was in his 78th year and had been confined to the hospital for the past five weeks. An employee at the State Teachers College, here, for the last four years, the deceased prior to that time had been associated with Veit Brothers, of near West Chester. He was a member of the Eagles and Odd Fellows Lodges, here. Surviving is a son, George Jr., of Honey Brook; a daughter, Rosanna, wife of Earl Dutt, of East Bradford Township, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one niece, Emma Shepherd, who made her home with Veit. Also surviving are two brothers, Fred Veit, of West Chester, and Dr. William Veit, of Venice, California, and a sister, Louise, wife of the late Dr Everett Silcox. Of Keyport, N.J. Ibid: VEIT- In Chester County Hospital, on Feb. 5, George Veit, Sr., in the 78th year of his age. Relatives and friends of the family, also West Chester Lodge No. 1720, F.O.E. and West Chester Lodge No. 42 I.O.O.F., are invited to attend the funeral without further notice from the Hicks Funeral Home, 229 S. High St., West Chester, on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 11 A.M. Interment in St. Agnes' Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening.
