Aaron Watson Yesterday afternoon at 1:45 o’clock, C. Aaron Watson of 608 South Church Street, this place, passed away in the 68th year of his age. For the past seven years he had been an invalid, having suffered a paralytic stroke at that time. He was a son of the late Cornelius and Mary Watson, and for many years was a farmer of Oxford and later Landenberg. This farm he sold at that time of his moving here, seven years ago. He married twice, his first wife being Miss Anna Shockley, the second Mrs. Anna Kirkpatrick, who survives him. Three sons died in infancy, and there are ten daughters surviving; Iva, wife of Howard Pyle, of West Chester; Ida, wife of Calvin Riggins; Lelia, wife of Rene Bassett, of Norristown; Anna, wife of Charles P. Rigg, of this place; Elma, wife of Calvin Bostelle; Ethel, wife of Geo. Harmon; Elsie, wife of John Stauffer, Wallingford; Margaret, wife of Richard Weller, or West Grove, Bessie, wife of Peter Morris, this place; Alice, at home. There are twenty grandchildren. One brother, B. Riley Watson, of Oxford, also survives. Five sisters, who live in Delaware, also survive. Daily Local News, May 14, 1929 WATSON- In West Chester, on May 12, C. Aaron Watson, in the 68th year of his age. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral from the Hicks Funeral Home, 130 West Market St., West Chester, on Wednesday, May 15th, at 2 p.m. D.S.T. Interment at Riverview Cemetery, Wilmington. Friends may call on Tuesday evening. Daily Local News, May 16, 1929 Funeral services for the late C. Aaron Watson were held at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon from the Hicks Funeral Home, 130 West Market Street. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends and many beautiful flowers. The services were in charge of Rev. N. Barton Masters, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, of this place. Mrs. Isaac Fetters sang two selections in beautiful voice. Pall bearers were: Howard Pyle, Richard Weller, Calvin Bostelle, Lewis Stroud, George Harmon and Howard Austin. Interment was made in Riverview Cemetery, Wilmington, Del.
