All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ Bentley WERT 12/1835-5/1916: Local Daily News Friday 5/9/1916 "The funeral of Bentley Wert was held from his late home on Thursday morning, with the services in the Honeybrook Methodist Episcopal Church. Rev. W.F. Ewing, of town, and Rev. John S. Mast, of Morgantown, officiated, interment being made in the M.E. Cemetery. Mr. Wert passed away rather suddenly, death being due to dropsy and heart trouble, he being eighty years of age. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having served in the latter part of the struggle as a member of the Pennsylvania Volunteers. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (nee Shinemann), and these sons and daughters: John, of town; Jacob, of Reading; Nora, wife of George Derr, of Reading; and Lulu, wife of Don Skelton, of Youngstown, Ohio. Eight grandchildren also survive. NOTE: His wife was Mary Jane SHENEMAN, dau of Jacob SHENEMAN and Maria STRICKER."
