Clay Smale, of South Coventry, and Miss Carrie E. Lapp, of Pottsville, Schuylkill county, were wedded in their previously furnished home in South Coventry in the presence of many invited guests. Miss Susie B. Smale, the charming sister of the groom, was bridesmaid, and Paul M. Lapp, of Pottsville, brother of the bride, was best man. Rev. C. E. Radcliffe, pastor of the Coventryville M. E. Church, performed the ceremony. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Lapp, of Pottsville, the former being a well-known P. & R. baggagemaster. Mrs. Lapp was prevented by sickness from being present. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel B. Smale and a popular and worthy young man, who is at present employed in the Ellis & Lessig nail works at this place. The calithumpian serenaders were on hand and gave spice to the close of the wedding festivities.
