Recorded in Book 6, Page 37. Chester County, Pennsylvania. "In the name of God Amen the Eleventh Day of May 1748 of Abraham Beatty of Fellowfield Township in the County and Province of Pennsylvania yeoman being sick and weak of body but of Perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to God, therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my Last will and testament, that is to say Principally, and first of all, I give and recommend my Soul in the hand of almighty God hoping for Salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executtors nothinng doubting but at the general resurection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty Power of God. And as touching such Worldly Estate where-with it hath pleased the Lord to bless me in this Life, I give demise and dispose of the same in the following Manner and form. And first I give and bequeath to my Son David my greatcoat and to his son Abraham my new hat and one Ewe with one Lamb. Secondly I bequeath to son Robert my new coat Jacket and britches. And to his son Abraham one two year old heffir or two Pounds in Lewthereof. Thirdly I leave and bequeath to my son, Robert Kerson, six shillings...Fourthly I bequeath to Son George Menaugh one cow or three pounds in Lewthereof. Fifthly I constitute and ordain Rebecca Beatty my well beloved Daughter to be Sole Heir of my Estate or Plantation to be by her solely possesed and enjoyed providing always that she marrie with Consent of my Executors and overseer in name I shall appoint and afterwards nominate. And further I allow my well beloved Wife Agnes to Live with Daughter Rebecca whilst she lives in widow-hood and to be maintained of the plantation if they can aggree to Live together and it it should hapen at anytime that they shall think it proper to part I allow my well beloved Wife to get the one third part of all my Moveably that I now posses. And further I Constitute ordain and apppoint William Beatty of Ectererra and David Beatty of Eastcallen Exets. and Robert my overseer to this my Last will and Testament. But in Execution I do hereby utterly Disenlow revock and dismiss all and every other former testament Will Legacie and Bequests Executors or overseers by me in any ways before named redefining and confirming ths and no other to be my last will and testament in wittness whereof I have hereunto set hand and seal the day and year above written, signed sealled published pronounced and declared by the said Abraham Beatty. And if it should hapen that Daughter Rebecca should not marry to the sattis- fection of my overseer and execitors that then and in such a case it shall be in their power to dispose of the Plantation as they shall see most suitable. In which case my trusty and well beloved friend Robert May whom I have constituted and appointed my overseer to have the Chief hand, being well acquainted With my Mind in such a case......Amen."
