It is my will and I do order that my just debts and funeral expenses be first paid by my executors hereinafter named. Item 2nd I do give and bequeath unto my four step daughters the children of my beloved wife Sarah Cadwallader viz. To Elizabeth Morgan fifty dollars which I give her in consideration of her having taken care of and maintained (in their minority) four of my son Ezra Cadwallader’s children which sum I direct to be taken out of the dividend which I give unto his children in this my last will also fifty dollars more to her and fifty dollars to Margaret Baker, fifty dollars to Hannah Montgomery and fifty dollars to Lydia Baldwin to be paid to them in one year after the sale of my property as hereafter divided. Item 3 I do hereby authorize and empower my executors hereafter named to sell all my estate both real and personal to the best advantage that they can and to make a good lawful title for my real estate to the purchase thereof. Item 4 And it is my will that my executors after they have made sale of my estate as is hereinbefore directed and paid all the legacies herein mentioned do then make an equal dividend of the net proceeds thereof between my four children or their representatives that is to the children of my son Ezra Cadwallader (deceased) one fourth part, to the children of my son Isaac Cadwallader (also deceased) one fourth part, To my daughter Sarah the wife of Owen Evans one fourth part And to my daughter Jane the wife of Enos Morris the remaining fourth part thereof. It is further my will that whereas I have already given to my son Isaac Cadwallader in his life time the sum of five hundred thirty three dollars and thirty four cents that my executors do deduct that sum out of the dividend directed by this will to his children without any interest being counted upon it. Item 5 And with reguard to my daughter Sarah the wife of Owen Evans my will is that the share or dividend which I have given to her in this my last will be paid by my executors into the hands of William Downing, Miller of East Caln whome I hereby direct and appoint to receive the same in trust for her and as her right and property to pay or to apply to her or for her whole and entire use and benefit according to her order and desire and to nobody else without her consent to do so and further it is my will that if the said William Downing should die or other good and sufficient cause require it to make a change of said trustee that she shall have full power to do so and choose another to supply his place and after her decease that said trustee pay over the balance that remains in his hands to her children in equal shares. Item 6th and it is my will that where there are any of my children who stand indebted to me either on bond note or book account that such sum or sums be accounted as so much of their respective shares of dividend directed by this my last will and testament to them. Item 7th I do hereby ordain and appoint my sons-in-law Enos Morris and Ezekiel Evans Jur Esqs to be the Executors of this my last will and testament. In witness I the testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty eighth day of the tenth month one thousand eight hundred and thirty. Note all the araisers and interlineations were made before the signing and sealing. Isaac Cadwallader Signed and sealed by the testator in the presence of us who at his request have set our names as witnesses John Martin, Isaac Alis, Joshua R Fell West Chester Nov 23, 1831 Then personally appeared John Martin, Isaac Ails who being aff___ in due form of law did depose and say that they were present and did see and hear Isaac Cadwallader the testator in the foregoing instrument of writing named sign seal publish pronounce and declare the same as and for his last will and testament and at the doing thereof he was of a sound and well disposing mind and memory to the best of their knowledge and belief. AD 1831 the last will and testament of Isaac Cadwallader deceased that proved and approved in due form of law and Letters Testament therein were duly granted to Enos Morris and Ezekiel Evans Jus Esqr executors therein named who were affirmed to make a true and just inventory on the Estate of said deceased and to exhibit a thee same unto the Register’s office in one month also diligently and faithfully to regard and well and truly comply with the provisions of an act of assembly passed the 7 day of April AD 1826 relating to collateral inheritance and to make a true and just account of their administration in one year or when therewith legally required.
