I Duncan MacGREGOR of the Township of Sadsbury, County of Chester, & State of Pennsylvania N. America being in health of body & of sound mind, memory, and understanding, but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following to wit. Prime. It is my will, and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease. Item. I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Margaret MacGREGOR all my property Real personal or XXX in America and xxx all my Real and personal property of whatever kind bequeathed to me by my father Malcom MacGREGOR’s will, reference XXX being had will more fully appear his residence formerly in Callander of Monteath Perthshire Scotland adjoining a lot of land formerly belonging to Joseph MacGREGOR about fifty years since, also my aforesaid wife Margaret MacGREGOR to receive have and to hold for her own proper use and behoof all of the above described property or intended to be described after my decease viz for her support and comfort in such manner as she shall think proper during her natural life, from and immediately after her decease I give and devise unto my five Children Margaretta Ferguson CARLILE, James Robertson MacGREGOR, Elizabeth ASH, Melinda MacGREGOR and Amelia MacGREGOR & to their heirs and XX forever to be equally divided among them. Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved brother in law Alexander MAITLAND Esq at my decease all my wearing apparel. Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my beloved wife and my friend Alexander MAITLAND to be my executors of this my last will hereby revoking all other wills, legacies or bequests by me hereunto made, and declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament. And further I do revoke and hereby make null and void a power of an attorney by me conferred on James ROBERTSON Esq XXX Row Edinburgh dated in June Eighteen hundred & forty two for his procrastination, and therefore I do hereby impower ((sic)) my Executors to make sale of all my property aforesaid in Scotland either real personal and XX as well as in America. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this Sixteenth day of May One thousand eight hundred and forty three. Duncan MacGREGOR Signed, Sealed & declared by the Testator as his last will & Testament in the presence of us James MIDDLETON Francis ARMSTRONG West Chester August 26th AD 1843 Then personally appeared James MIDDLETON and Francis ARMSTRONG who on their Solemn oath and affirmation respectively did declare and say that there were personally present and did see and hear Duncan MacGREGOR the testator in the with in instrument of writing named sign seal publish pronounce and declare the Same as and for his last will and Testament and at the time of so doing he was of a sound and well disposing mind and memory to best of their knowledge and belief.
