We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ Arthur Pattersonıs Will-Chester Co. 1757 Proved 12 August 1757 Recorded Book D page 85 Examined Will Number 1664 In the name of God Amen I Arthur Patterson of the township of East Caln County of Chester and province of Pensilvania; being weak in body but of sound memory and judgment (blessed be god) do this twenty first day of May in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty seven; make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following (that is to say) first I give my soul to god that give it and my body to be buried in a Christian and decesnt manner att the discretion of mine exceutor 2ndly that after all my just debts is discharged my will is that my Dear Wife Charity Patterson have (out of my worldly substance that god has given me); fifty pound to be paid her in one year after my decease; and likewise my will is that she have and enjoy during her widowhood the benifits arising from my Real Estate for the Mentainance and educating my children and likwise one fether bed and furniture and that horse comonly called hirss and her sadle 3dly my will is that the Remainder of all my Estate both Real and Personal be Equally divided between my two Doughters Mary and Isabela and if it shall please god that any of these my children should be called off by death in their minority or before they come to full age that then their part and dividand shall fall intire to the other; also my will is that if my wife shall see cause to Mary and Change her name that then she have no more or longer the claim to the profits arising from my Real Estate but that the benifits arising therefrom go for the further mantenance and Educating of my two Doughters and lastly I do make and ordain my trusty frend John Culburtson to be executrix of this my last will contained; and I do hereby Revock and disavow all former wills by me made and do declare this only to be my last will and testament and none other; in testimony where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written Signed sealed published and Arthur Patterson declared in the presence of {his signature} William Stengson Rachel McClean {The entire will seems to be written by Arthur Patterson} TWO PAGES CONCERNING INVENTORY AND ACCOUNTING DONE BY JOHN CULBERTSON. Archives Some say Arthur is a brother of James Patterson of Conestoga Manor. I don't know yet.
