Inventory Filed Apr. 23, 1852 In the matter of the estate of Cromwell Pearce late of the Township of East Whiteland deceased, part of whose estate is subject to Collateral Inheritance Tax I Alexander Leslie Register of Wills of the County of Chester hereby appoint Joseph B Jacobs of the said Township of East Whiteland the appraiser of that part of the estate of the said decedent subject to the Tax aforesaid, and generally for performing all duties imposed upon such appraiser by an act of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania approved April 10th 1849 entitled an act to create a Sinking Fund In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said office at West Chester the 15th day of April A. Bond Filed April 20 1852 KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we – Lewis G Pearce, George W Pearce, Jonathan Roberts, David McKonkey and Walter Hibbard Are held and bound unto the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the sum of Two hundred dollars, to be paid to said Commonwealth, to the which payment, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves jointly and severally, for and in the whole, our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our Seals, dated the fifteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two The conditions of this obligation are such, That if the above bounded Lewis G Pearce, George W Pearce and Jonathan Roberts Executors of the Last Will and Testament of Cromwell Pearce late of the township of East Whiteland in said county, deceased, do well and truly pay or cause to be paid to the Register of Wills in the county of Chester, all collateral inheritance tax, to which the estate of the said Cromwell Pearce deceased, may be subject to the payment of under the existing laws of this Commonwealth, together with such interest as may be charged upon the same under the laws aforesaid, then this obligation to be void, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.
