Last Will and Testament of Edward Pearce, 15 Oct 1776

Proved 3 May 1777, Chester Co PA, Estate File #3058

In the Name of God Amen I Edward Pierce of the township of Willistown the County 
of Chester and Steat of Pensylvania,

Yoman being in good helth and of sound disposeing mind and memory, blesfed be 
God,

therefore do this 15 th day of October Ano Domo one thoufand seven hundred and 
seventy six

calling to remembrance the unsartain esteat of this life and that it is apointed 
for all men once to dy, I do make declare and ordain this is my last will and 
testament in manor and form following I commit my soul unto God who givith and 
my body to the earth to be deasently buried at the discretion of my Ex.trs 
heirafter named,

and for the ??lling of my real and personal efstate and thush goods and chattels 
as God has bin pleased to blefs me with in this life

I do order give difspose of the seame in manor and form following that is to say 
–

Imprimas I order all my just dets and funerall charges to be first paid

I do order the lot in Chalghtown in Meryland with all my personal esteats to be 
sold as soon as conveinant and the money arising there from with the money due 
to me from Richard Morris by a settlement , is to be applied as follow eth,

that is to say the money due to the lone of is and the bond due to David Cornog 
is to be first paid, and the remainder to my wife Franse

I do order the plantation on which I now live in the township of Willistown 
containing one hundred fifty three eacors be the same more or lefs to be rented 
or sold at the difscretion of my Ex.trs reserving prevelidg for my wife to have 
room in the house and to live on the pleace as long as she pleese and to have 
hur maintainances ought of the profits arifsing from the place during hur 
lifetime

and after after her defese all the remainder of my efsteat is to be eaquelly 
debided between my two sons Cromwell and George Pierce or their heirs

the paying unto their sifter Rechel now Rechel Robeson the sum of twenty pounds 
of good and lawfull money of Penfilvia that is to say ten pounds each in one 
year after my wifes deseasfe - - - - -

And lastly I do nominate and appoint my loving wife Franfis and my son George 
Pierce and Daniel Cornog to be my Ex.trs of this my Last Will and Testament and 
I do revoke and declare to be null and void all former wills and teftaments by 
me maide either in words or writing and declare this only to be my laft will and 
teftaments

affirm as his according to law did severally depose declare and say that they 
were perfonally prefent and did see and hear Edward Pearce the testator within 
named sign seal publish pronounce and declare the above writing as and for his 
Last Will and Testament and that as the doing thereof he was of a sound and well 
disposing mind and memory to the best of their understanding
