Ball, last of the Ball boys, died at his home in Clarion, yesterday, following two days’ illness with heart trouble, complicated with bronchial pneumonia. He was born in Latrobe, the oldest of three sons who were raised by their mother, the late Mrs. Nettie Ball who had been left a widow when the children were quite small. The family resided on Chestnut street, and for some years Mrs. Ball was fore-lady of the sewing department of the Whiteman and Denman Shoe Factory. The family later removed to Irwin. Norman, who was 58 years of age, was a newspaper man practically all his life, working for the old Pittsburgh Dispatch, and later becoming managing editor of the Pittsburgh Leader. Eventually he became the publisher of the Clarion Republican. His two brothers, John and Charles, preceded him in death. He leaves his widow and two daughters.
