WILLIAM GARIS Mr. William Garis was born May 31, 1839 and died Aug. 16, 1908, aged 69 years, 2 months and 15 days. He was married to Margaret Heckathorn July 22, 1863. Of this union 11 children were born, four of whom preceded him to the better world. Besides his wife, Olive and Emrey, at home, Oelson and Mrs. Flem. Watson, of Foxburg; George, of Parker’s Landing; Charles and Miss Etta, of Butler. The latter who has been in the employ of J. M. Long for 18 years. He leaves three brothers, Lewis, James and Daniel and several grandchildren to mourn his departure. We know that our loss has been his gain and we submit to the will of Providence in this sore affliction. For years he has been a member of St. Paul’s church in which cemetery his remains were laid to rest. The pall bearers were, Levi, Calvin, Bert, Earl, Mahlen and Howard all nephews of the deceased. Rev. H. S.
