  Patrick Thomas Shannon died February 13, 1937
  
  Patrick Thomas Shannon, for many years a well known and respected resident
  of Crates, died at his home there Saturday, February 13, 1937, aged 78
  years.  He had been ill for some time prior to his deaths.
  
  The son of Patrick and Sarah (Shields) Shannon, he was born April 19, 1858
  in Philadelphia, Pa.  June 21, 1881, he was united in marriage to Margaret
  S. Aaron, who survives.  Though their union ten children were born, on whom,
  John, died in infancy.  Surviving their father are: Leonard B., Albert C.,
  Jessie Marie, Walter E., Sarah J., Mary Agnes, Florence, Dennis J. and
  Marguerite.  Of his fatherŐs family one sister and one brother survive, vis:
  Mrs. M. J. Guinlisk of Punxsutawney, Pa., and Dennis A. Shannon of
  Summerville, Pa.
  
  Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, February 16, from the St.
  Nicholas Catholic Church of Crates, and were conducted by the deceasedŐs
  pastor, Rev. Father Raymond A. Geiger.  Interment under the direction of
  Morticians R. F. Mateer and son, took place in the St. Nicholas cemetery at
  Crates.
