Shay of Knox community, died in the Oil City hospital at 7:55 p.m. Monday, November 27, 1944. She was born in Beaver township January 26, 1877. She was a member of St. PaulŐs Reformed church. Surviving are 10 children, Mrs. Edna Altman and Mrs. Iva Nail of Knox, R.D., Kernel Shay of Eldred, Thomas Shay of Bradford, Earl Shay of Knox, Mrs. Jessie Lewis of Volant. Mrs. Dorothy Matthews of Parkers Landing. Mrs. Georgie Whitling of LeMar, Mo., Earl and Russell Shay now in the armed forces somewhere in France; 15 grandchildren, and the following sisters and brother, Mrs. Anna Dunkle of Foxburg, Mrs. Blanche Weeter of Knox, and Ira Wentling of Agusta, Kan. A funeral service was held in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Iva Nail, of Knox, R.D. at 2:30 p.m. last Thursday, with Rev. Roy Frazier, her pastor, in charge. Interment was made in St. PaulŐs Union cemetery.
