We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ Carl Stanley Shick died May 4, 1962 Carl Stanley Shick, 68, of Fairmount City, died on Friday, May 4, at the Brookville Hospital, following a short illness. Born in Clarion County on December 14, 1893, he was the son of Thomas and Leah (Domer) Shick. On January 2, 1913, in Hawthorn, he was married to the former Izetta Fox, who survives him. Mr. Shick was employed as a guard at the Sylvania Plant in Brookville until his retirement two years ago. He was a member of the Fairmount City Evangelical United Brethren Church; teacher of the MenÕs Bible Class at the church; and treasurer of the Clarion County District of the E.U.B. Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Arnold W. Shick, of Fairmount City; two daughters, Mrs. Edgar (Hazel) Jones, of West Chester, and Mrs. Edward (Gloria) Wiant, of Fairmount City; four grandchildren; and six greatÑgrandchildren. He also leaves a brother, John W. Shick, of Fairmount City, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Nulph, of Erie, and Mrs. Ray Shaffer, of Sharon. One brother, LeRoy H. Shick, is deceased. Funeral services were held at the Charles D. Alcorn Funeral Home, Hawthorn, on Monday, May 7, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Herbert Claar, pastor of the Fairmount City E.U.B. Church, officiating. Burial was made in the family plot at Middle Run Cemetery, Red Bank Township, Clarion County.
