We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ Mary Alda Shick died February 18, 1962 Mrs. Arnold Shick, 71, of Hawthorn, died on Sunday, February 18, at the Adrian Hospital, Punxsutawney. She had been ill for the past month. The former Mary Alda Wampler, She was born in Summerville on January 14, 1891, a daughter of Obediah and Laura (Fisher) Wampier. On May 14, 1919 she was married to Arnold C. Shick, who survives. She was a member of the Hawthorn Presbyterian Church and also belonged to the Missionary Society of the church. She was a member of the New Bethlehem Chapter 230 of the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Joseph (Alice) Musser, of New Bethlehem; Mrs. James (Sara) Metz, of Indian River, Michigan; Mrs. Russell (Marjorie) Yeany, of R1, Fairmount City; and Mrs. Russell E. (Betty) Shick, of R1, Sarver. She also leaves eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Four sisters and one brother survive. They include Mrs. Jerry Kieth, Summerville; Mrs. Nora Bish, Ashtabula, Ohio; Mrs. May Kelly, Erie; Mrs. Roy Saye, Davie, Florida, and Charles Wampler, Jensen, Florida. Funeral services are being held at 2 p.m. this afternoon (Wednesday) at the Charles D. Alcorn Funeral Home, Hawthorn. The Rev. J. V. Mountain, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Rhys Price, will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in the Hawthorn Cemetery.
