We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ Edward Silvis died January 24, 1939 Funeral services for Edward Silvis, 70, prominent resident of Sligo, who died Tuesday morning, January 24, 1939, were held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 oÕclock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ira Miller of Sligo. The services were in charge of the Reverend Albert J Renwick, pastor of the M.E. church, and the Reverend E. D. Crawford, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Interment was made in the Sligo cemetery. Mr. Silvis, the son of John and Mary Ann Bolton Silvis, was born December 13, 1868. He was married to Elizabeth Walrobenstein, who died September 12, 1912. He was a member of F.& A. M. of St. Petersburg and the Sligo Odd Fellows Lodge. Surviving are the following children; Herman Silvis, Sligo; Chas. Silvis, Clarion; Mrs. Vada Miller and Dr. Frank Silvis, Sligo. One daughter, Miss Mabel Silvis, preceded him in death. He also leaves five grandchildren, a niece, Mrs. Marie Kroh of Rimersburg, two brothers, William Silvis of East (last line of my copy is unreadable.)
