We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ Amanda Slaugenhoup May 17, 1927 Mrs. Amanda Slaugenhoup departed this life at her home in Lafayette Street, this place, Tuesday evening, May 17, 1927 at 11:15. Some time during the night of May 10, Mrs. Slaugenhoup sustained a stroke of paralysis. Her condition was not discovered until the following morning, and since then she lay in an unconscious condition, being unable to move, until she was called hence. Deceased was a daughter of Isaac and Malinda (Hepler) Womeldorf, and was born near Squirrel Hill, this county, April 12, 1862, which would make her 65 years, 1 month and 5 days old at the time of her death. She was the oldest of a family of 11 children, six of whom, together with her father, preceded her in death. The following survive: Her mother, who is 83 years of age, W.I. of Cottage Hill, Mrs. J.P. Miles and Mrs. Jos. Minnich of New Bethlehem; Mrs. A. C. Delp of St. Charles and Mrs. J.P. Delp of near Seattle, Wash. In 1885 she was united in marriage to Mr. J. R. Slaugenhoup, who preceded her in death four years ago last March. There were no children to this marriage. The death of her husband told on her and she had not been in good health since that time. Mrs. Slaugenhoup was a consistent member of the First Presbyterian church, this place, and funeral services will be held at her home Friday afternoon of this week at 3:00 oÕclock and will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. J.W. Fraser. Interment under the direction of Charles White will be made in the New Bethlehem cemetery.
