Smith, of South Bethlehem, died Friday, July 29, 1955, at 6:15 a.m., in the Watson Convalescent Home, Clarion, following a lingering illness. She was a daughter of the late David and Mary Frances (Columbine) George, and was born at Deanville, Madison township, on March 15, 1870. She was 85 years, 4 months, and 14 days old. She was married to J. W. Smith who preceded her in death 6 1Ú2 years ago. She is survived by two brothers, Charles E. and Ervin E. George, of R. 2, New Bethlehem; four sisters, Bertha, wife of Thomas Snyder, R. 4, New Bethlehem; Rhoda, wife of James Reed, R. 3, New Bethlehem; Zelda, wife of Harry Pence, R. 1, New Bethlehem, and Viola, wife of U. A. Smith, New Kensington. Funeral services in her memory were held at 2: p.m. Monday, August 1, in Mateer Funeral Home with the Rev. John Springer, of Deanville Baptist church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dale Zimmerman, of Oakdale Church of the Brethren. Burial was made in the New Bethlehem cemetery.
