Smith of Clarion Borough Clarion County state of Pennsylvania being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memory and understanding (prase be to god for it) considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of time thereof and to the end I may be the better prepaired to leve this world whenever it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and declare this my will and testament in maner following, I do make and declare this to be my will and testament in maner following that is to say I do order that all my just debts funeral expences and charges of proving this my wil be in the first place fully paid and satisfied and after payment thereof and every part thereof I give and bequeath to Jonathan Smith Samuel A. Smith Charles W. Smith John J. Smith all of the following describe lot or piece of land situate in Clarion Borough Bounded as follows to viz: East by D. B. Curll south by M. Whitehill west by Theo B. Wilson North by L. G. Corbett containing one half acre more or less And all the rest of my goods and residue and remainder of my goods and residue and remainder of my goods chattles Debts ready money effects and other my estate whatsoever and wheresoever both real and personal. I give and bequeath the same and every part and parcel thereof unto Jonathan Smith my husband Samuel A. Smith Charles W. Smith John T. Smith my Three children my executive administraaators and assigns. And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint J. H. Suruy of Clarion Borough executor of this my will hereby revoking and making void all former and other wills by me at anytime heretofor made and declare this only to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said testator Rachel A. Smith have to this my last will and testiment set my hand and seal this 27th day of October A.D. 1883. -Rachel A. Smith as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her request have subscribed our names as witnesseseth thereto -A.K. Page - J. C. Slagle Clarion County,SS: Before me, S.J. Brgoon, Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the county of Clarion, personally came A.R. Page on of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will, who being duly sworn according to law, do say that they were present and saw and heard Rachel Smith deceased, the Testator therein named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for her Last Will and Testament and that at the time of so doing she was of sound mind, memory and understanding, to the best of their knowledge and belief. - A. R. Page Sworn and subscribed before me this 19 day of July A.D. 1886 -S.J. Burgoon CLARION COUNTY, SS: I do swear that as Executor of the foregoing Last Will and Testament of Rachel Smith, deceased, I will well and truly administer the goods and chattels, rights and credits of said deceased, according to law, and diligenty and faithfull regard, and well and truly comply with the provisions of the law relating to collateral inheritances. - J. Burgoon, Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the county of Clarion, personally came J. C. Slagle one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will, who being duly sworn according to law, does say, thjat he was present and saw and heard Rachel A. Smith deceased, the Testator therein named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for her Last Will and Testament, and that at the time of so doing she was of sound mind, memory and understanding, to the best of his knowledge and belief. - J. C. Slagle Sworn and subscribed before me this 4 day of August A.D. 1886 - S.J. Burgoon, Register. CLARION COUNTY, SS: Before me S.J. Burgoon, Register of Wills in and for said County, personally came A. R. Page of the Borough of Clarion, in the county of Clarion, who being duly (affirmed?) according to law, says: That he was acquainted with Rachel A. Smith, late of the Borough of Clarion in said county, deceased; that he was present and saw her dead and that she died at Clarion, Pa., on the 3 day of June, A.D. 1886, at about - o’clock A.M. of said day.
