  Oscar Mitchell is a native of Lawrence township, born 
February 28, 1849.  He was educated at the State Normal 
School at Millersville, Lancaster county, Pa., but did not 
graduate from there.  In 1874 he commenced the study of law 
with Frank Fielding, Esq., and was admitted to the 
Clearfield bar in June, 1876.
