County Bar

  William I. Swoope was born in Clearfield in 1862; educated 
at Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass., and at Harvard 
University, Cambridge, Mass.  He read law in the office of 
Roland D. Swoope, Esq., and was admitted to the bar at 
Clearfield in December, 1886.  He was twice elected District 
Attorney of the County.
