  Americus Hodge Woodward, born in Luzerne county, Pa., May 1, 1859; graduated 
from the State Normal School at Millersburg in July, 1878; entered the 
University of Michigan in 1881, and graduated in 1882; read law in 1882 in the 
office of McEnally & McCurdy, and was admitted to the bar in June, 1883.  Mr. 
Woodward served two terms as District Attorney.
