DECLARATION OF INTENTION In the Court of Common Pleas of Clearfield County, Pa I, John SLYVKO, a citizen of Austria having arrived at the port of New York, State New York on or about the 25th day of December, A.D. 1887 do declare ON OATH, that it is BONA FIDE my intention to become A Citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty, whatever, and particularly to the Emperor of Austria of whom I am a subject. Guigery, Prothonotary PETITION FOR NATURALIZATION To the Honorable, the Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Clearfield County, at a Court holden in and for said county the sixth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand, eight hundred and ninety six. THE PETITION of John Slyvko a native of Austria, now residing in the county of Clearfield and State of Pennsylvania, respectfully showeth: That your petitioner arrived in the United States of America, to wit, at the port of New York, in the State of New York, on or about the 25th day of December, A.D. 1887 and that in pursuance of an Act of Congress entitled ³An Act to establish a uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject², made a declaration of his intention to become a citizen of the United States conformedly to the said Act, before the Prothonotary of Clearfield county, in the State of Pennsylvania on the 14th day of February, A.D. 1894, that he had resided within the limits and Jurisdiction of the United States for five years last past, and for one year last past within the State of Pennsylvania; that he has never borne any hereditary title, or been of any of the orders of nobility in Austria from whence he came.
