Snow, and swore that he was identical to that person who had enrolled in Co. H 29 Reg. Iowa Infantry as a private on 4 January 1864 and was honorably discharged at New Orleans, La. on 4 August 1865. He was partially unable to earn a support by reason of rheumatism and chronic diarrhea. He had never applied for a pension before. He appointed D.S Moore of Curwensville his attorney for a fee of $10. He made his mark and had two witnesses to his mark, Reuben Hall and John R. Bloom. They stated that each had known him for 4 5 years. On 15 August 1891, Pension #980864 was recorded at the War Department, noting that he had "m.o." 10 August 1865 and had also served in Co. C 20 Ia. Inf. On 15 January 1898, the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Pensions, sent him a "circular" with questions to be answered. 1. Are you married? Catherine Appleton,--Catharine Kline 2.
