Raftsman's Journal. (Clearfield, Pa.), January 14, 1857 January 1857
On Tuesday of last week, as Mr. Aaron Hartman, of Lawrence township, on his
way from Tyrone to this place, was descending a hill a couple miles this side of
Philipsburg, his sled struck something which caused it to fly around and throw off
Mr. H., who, falling between the sled-runner and a log at the roadside, was knocked
insensible and received some severe wounds about his head.
