(Clearfield, Pa.) August 12, 1857 Yesterday evening, Gen. A. M. Hills, of this borough, had his face and right hand burned very badly by the explosion of a lamp filled with alcohol, and which he used in soldering. The wick being too small, the fire ran into the inside of the lamp, and filling the vacuum caused the explosion. Mr. Hills suffered intense pain, his face being burned all over, and the accident will prevent him from attending to his professional business for a short time, at least.
