Arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. ©(DuBois, PA) Courier-Express/Tri-County 2008 John Gerald Amitrone 05/06/2008 John Gerald Amitrone, 71, 1600 Church Ave., Brockway, died Saturday at DuBois Regional Medical Center. Born July 10, 1936, in Brockway, he was the son of the late John and Irene Petruzzi Amitrone. He was married to Sylvia Ambrosia April 11, 1959. She survives. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Tobias Catholic Church in Brockway. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy Club in Brockway and the Parson- Marnati American Legion Post No. 95. He enjoyed hunting, baseball and spending time with his family. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. He was retired from Owens-Illinois in Brockway. He is also survived by one son, John J. Amitrone of Mount Dora, Fla.; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Amitrone of Brockway; one brother, James Amitrone of Brockway; five sisters: Lena Cox of Brockway, Lucille Fischer of DuBois, Wanda Lankard of Mechanicsburg, Marilyn Torok of Erie and Yola Kohner of Fort Royal, S.C.; and two grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Angelo and Joseph Amitrone. AMITRONE: John Gerald, 1600 Church Ave., Brockway, died May 3, 2008. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway with the Rev. Msgr. Charles Kaza officiating.
