Clearfield Progress, Sept 1949
Mary Belle McMullen Ball was born September 11, 1892 and died in Memorial 
Hospital Septembr 10, 1949 after several weeks of intense suffering from that 
dread disease, cancer.  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marie J. Lawhead 
of Hyde, and three grand-children.  She is also survived by two sisters and a 
brother living in Cumberland, Maryland.  Funeral services were held from the 
Leavy Funeral Home on Monday afternoon, September 12, after which the body was 
laid to rest in the Centre Cemetery, Hyde.  

Additional Comments:
Mary was the daughter of John Robert McMullen and Mary Virginia Jordan who had 
lived in Eckhart Mines, Allegany County, MD.  At the time of her death her 
living brother was Frank and her two sisters were, Nellie Fisher and Cora 
Ogden. She was divorced from Lawrence J. Ball, Clearfield (Hillsdale), who was 
still living.  Her three grandchildren were Claire, Robert and Leslie 
Lawhead.
