Berty, 90, formerly of Falls Creek and St. Michael Terrace and the DuBois Village, both in DuBois, died Tuesday at DuBois Regional Medical Center West. Born March 26, 1917, in Beechwoods, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Calhoun Wiser. She was married to Maurice Berty April 23, 1936, in Falls Creek. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 2001. She was a 1935 graduate of Falls Creek High School. She was a secretary for Falls Creek borough and the manager/secretary for Berty Carpet Company. She was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church in DuBois. She was an active member of Child Evangelism Fellowship and other womens organizations of the church. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She is survived by one son, Robert M. Berty of Robinson, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Ken (Donna Daugherty) Miller of Clarkston, Mich. and Port Charlotte, Fla.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. - - - BERTY: Marie C., formerly of Falls Creek, died Nov. 27, 2007. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc. in DuBois. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Terry Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery, Falls Creek.
