BRIGGS, SR., 78, died in the Maple Avenue Hospital Thursday, Feb. 6 Mr. Briggs was born in Brockway Jan. 17, 1897, son of Isaiah and Mary Briggs. He was married first to Theressa Ward, who preceded him in death, and later to the former Leona Provin, she survives. The deceased was a member of the Moorhead Methodist Church, a veteran of WW I, a retired foreman for Brockway Glass Company and belonged to American Legion Parson-Marnati Post 95. Survivors are three sons: William, Jr., Brockway; Jack, Lakewood, Cal.; and Robert, Alexandria, Va.; a daughter: Mrs. Dolores Foulks, Washington; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. Lucille Renwick, Mrs. Helen Thompson, both of Brockway; Mrs. Evelyn Sloan, Delray Beach, Fla.; and Mrs. Lillian Cooper, Claremont, Cal.; five brothers: Floyd and Milton, Akron, O.; Joseph of Denver, Colo.; Wesley and Clayton, Brockway. Friends will be received at the Carlson Funeral Home from 7-9 tonight and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Revs. Albert Renwick and Percy Ellenberger will officiate at services from the funeral home Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.
