Osceola Mills – Mrs. Mary Brown a well known and highly esteemed resident of 
Osceola Mills died at her residence on Stone Street at an early hour Tuesday 
morning aged 76 years and 4 months. She had been a resident of the community 
for 50 years.  Following a stroke of paralysis on Monday evening she became 
unconscious and remained in that condition until she passed away. Dr. 
Gallagher and Lynn and Dr. Alma Reed of Bellwood were summoned but on account 
of the advance age of the patient together with the severity of the attack the 
skill of the physicians was of no avail.
She is survived by two sons and four daughters namely Harry W. and Arthur E., 
Mrs. Carrie Richards, Mrs. Emma Wells all of Osceola.  Mrs. C.C. Henry of Lock 
Haven and Mrs. Charles Hexter of Philadelphia.
Her husband Wm. A. Brown preceded her about two and half years ago, son Wm. 
Jr. who died at the age of nine years and Albert S. who met death in an 
automobile accident last August.
She was a member of a family of ten and all them lived to an advanced age 
having passed over the river except one brother Nathan Smith of Ranch???,????, 
Co. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon with interment in the family 
plot in Umbria Cemetery.

Unable to read brother's residence in the article. Mrs. Carrie Richards was 
married to Walter Richards, son of A.S.R Richards and Elizabeth Wood of 
Osceola. Carrie is buried in the Richards Family Plot in Umbria Cemetery.
