Sept. 7, 1999 LLOYD BURKETT Lloyd John Burkett Jr., 78, of 238 Wayne Road, DuBois, died Saturday at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Aug. 24, 1921, in DuBois, a son of the late Lloyd J. Burkett and Catherine L. Bowers. He was married to Helen Louise North on Nov. 28, 1941. They were married 57 years. She survives. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, the Asbury Sunday School Class and the board of trustees. He was a past member of the official board. He was an active member of the Bucktail Council of the Boy Scouts of America and was the recipient of numerous awards including Scouting's highest honor, the Silver Beaver Award in 1979. He was a graduate of Sandy High School. He was a shop foreman and parts manager for Edwards Motor Transit Co. and Fullington Autobus Company. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bench rest shooting, traveling and bowling. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Aurand of Warren, Ohio, Sandra Robertson of Reynoldsville; a son, Randy Burkett of St. Louis; a sister, Kay Kriner of DuBois; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Additional Comments: BURKETT: Lloyd John, Jr., of 238 Wayne Road, DuBois, died Sept. 4, 1999. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee W. Parker Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois. Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 16 Denton Ave., DuBois, Pa. 15801.
