Mr. Byerly was walking on the track, and as he was hard of hearing he did not notice the train until it was too late for him to get out of the way. He was well acquainted in this section of the country, having lived at Falls Creek for several years and was in the employ of Capt. W. J. Leahy. By his thrift he acquired some property here and lived upon it at the time of his death. He leaves one daughter who resides at Williamsport.
