Born March 15, 1919, in Brockway, he was a son of the late Charles and Olive Morrison Calhoun. He was married to Avanell K. Nulph Calhoun, who preceded him in death on August 25. He was a veteran of the Army, having served in World War II. He retired in 1984 as co-owner of Bordelle Ice Cream Sales in Mount Chestnut. He had been employed by Olsen's Dairy and Country Belle Dairy in Butler. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the church's Wesley Bible Class. He was a lifetime member of the Joseph T. Black Post 249 of Butler, a member of UCT and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by a son, Chuck Calhoun of Florence, Texas, a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Betty) Uber of Butler, two sisters, Maybelle Corbett of Clarion and Bonnie Bell of Brockway, two brothers, Robert Calhoun and Wayne Calhoun, both of Brockway, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Calhoun. CALHOUN: William "Bill," formerly of Brockway and Kennedy Lane, Butler, died April 3, 2005. Burial was in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 200, E. North St., Butler, PA 16001. William "Bill" Calhoun March 15, 1919 - April 3, 2005 William "Bill" Calhoun, age 86 formerly of Kennedy Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. in the Butler V A Medical Center. Born March 15, 1919 in Brockway, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Charles Calhoun and the late Olive Morrison. Mr. Calhoun was a co-owner of Bordelle Ice Cream Sales in Mount Chestnut, retiring in 1984. He was formerly employed by Olsens Dairy and Country Belle Dairy in Butler. Mr. Calhoun is survived by one son, Chuck and his wife Lou Calhoun of Florence, Texas; one daughter, Betty and her husband Tom Uber of Butler, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Michele Chiprean of Erie, Pennsylvania, Beth Wilbert of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, Wendy Calhoun of Florence, Texas, and Kelly Calhoun of Georgetown, Texas, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Marybelle Corbett of Clarion, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Bonnie Bell of Brockway, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Robert Calhoun of Brockway, Pennsylvania, Wayne Calhoun of Brockway, Pennsylvania; his extented family, Lorie and Gene Troyan and their sons Chad and Shane of Butler, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Calhoun was preceded in death by his wife, Avanell K. (Nulph) Calhoun who passed away on August 25, 2004 and by a brother, Dwight Calhoun. Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend J. David Panther officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.
