Monday May 15,1944 Exerpts from News Article: Tyrone Daily Herald Tyrone Pa. Monday, May 15, 1944 Bald Eagle Woman is Killed By Bus Mrs. Ruth Dunlap Fatally Hurt Near Ebensburg Mrs. Ruth R. Dunlap, 48, residing near Bald Eagle was almost instantly killed on Saturday evening at 5:15 o’clock when she was struck by the Greyhound bus on which she had been a passenger a few seconds before the front and back right wheels of the bus passing over her body on the William Penn highway Coroner Patrick McDermott will hold an inquire (con’t page 3) Bald Eagle Woman is Killed By Bus (continued from Page One) Mrs. Dunlap was born in Ginter, Clearfield County, December 23, 1895, the daughter of William T. and Adeline (Higgins) Richards. She is the wife of Martin Dunlap and her husband with two children survive. They are Anna Mae and Robert both at home. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Ellsworth R. Richards, Ebenburg; Mrs. Dorothy Mayes, R.D. Ebensburg; who Mrs. Dunlap was going to visit; Charles W. Richards, Houtzdale and Carl Richards, Ginter. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Askew Funeral home in Ebensburg with the Rev. J. Leo Ferguson of the Ebensburg Christian Chruch in charge. Interment will be in Grandview cemetery Tyrone. Mrs. Dunlap was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Tyrone. The body may be viewed at Grandview cemetery on Tuesday afternoon from four to 4;15 o’clock just prior to burial.
