Dr. J. B. Eakin, pastor of the Central Presbyterian church of Punxsutawney, 
died at that place on Wednesday evening, following a short illness. On
Tuesday of last week, Mrs. Eakin, wife of the deceased minister, died
after a brief sickness.  Mrs. Eakin had led the Missionary society one week ago 
Sunday, and Dr. J. B. Eakin, filled his pulpit on the same day. She was taken 
suddenly ill, and died on Tuesday. Dr. Eakin was in poor health at the time, 
and it is believed that the death of his wife, proved a greater shock than be 
could bear. Pneumonia set in a few days ago, his condition growing rapidly 
worse, and he died a few minutes after 8 o'clock last night.
