In 1857 the family moved to this section. Seventeen children were born to the couple, of these, Ann, widow of Joseph Buskirk, Mrs. Caroline Wallace, Alfred, Mrs. Harriet Guckhaven, Peter, Mrs. John Wright, and Martin B.S. are living. Grandmother Evans other descendants number 39 grandchildren, 82 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. About 16 years ago, Mrs. Evans joined the Presbyterian church. In her last hours her whole thought was religion. The funeral in the Methodist Church on Monday was very largely attended. By an unfortunate coincidence, all of the three ministers of our place were absent, and Rev. M. Miller of DuBois conducted the services preaching a fine sermon from the text "Blessed are the dead that died in the Lord &c." Thos B. Buoy was funeral director and the interment was made in Bundy Cemetery. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
