Allemans- Grier B. "Jake" Fox,91, of Allemans, died Thursday, June 29, 2006, at his residence. Born April 27, 1915, at Allemansville, he was a son of John M. and Margaret (Eakin) Fox. Mr. Fox was a member of the Interanational Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bellwood, the United Mine Workers of America; the National Rifle Association; and had served in the Civiiian Conservation Corp. He served in the Air Force as a corporal during World War II. On Feb. 20, 1939 he wed Mary Gerula, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter Lydia L. Fox of State College;granddaughter, Cortney Fraiser and her husband Mark of Leeburg, Va; a grandson, Christian Case and his wife, Eva Aigner, of Anchorage Alaska; three great-grandsons; a sister Jeannette M. Harrier of Virgina Beach, Va.; and numerous cousins,nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fox was preceeded in death by three brothers, William, Archibald and Reuben; and three sisters, Miriam Keller, Louise North and Margaret Dunlap. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow with the Rev. Thomas McCoy officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Allemans. Friends recieved tomorrow at the funeral home from noon until the hour of services.
